I’m Dave Goodman. I’m a novelist and short fiction writer. I write posts about fiction writing, reading, travel, the outdoors, and the digital world.
I write thrillers and science fiction. My debut novel A Reluctant Spy is out from Headline Books in September 2024.
I try to get out in the hills as often as I can, which isn’t as often as I’d like. I spend too much money on camping gear and then don’t use it enough.

What do you write?
I’ve been writing since my teens, but I’m a novelist, short fiction writer and (occasional) poet, mostly writing speculative fiction and thrillers. You can find me on Amazon and Goodreads.
I am represented by Harry Illingworth at DHH Literary.
I’m a very enthusiastic member of Edinburgh SFF and Codex Writers and the original founder of Edinburgh Genre Writers way back in 2014.
Where?
I live in East Lothian, Scotland, just outside Edinburgh. It’s a beautiful place. You should totally visit.
