I’m Dave Goodman. I write posts about fiction writing, reading, travel, the outdoors, and the digital world. Sometimes politics, but I’m trying to do less of that.
I’m a user experience designer in my day job. I look for annoying things in digital (and sometimes offline) systems and make them work better. It involves a lot of thinking about where things go, how they work and why people get confused. It’s also not the main focus of this website. Look for me on LinkedIn if you want to know about that.
I’m Happy Dave on Flickr, Metafilter and a bunch of forums. If you find something online written under that name, chances are that I wrote it.
I try to get out in the hills as often as I can, which isn’t as often as I’d like. I spend too much money on camping gear and then don’t use it enough.
Here’s what I’m up to right now.
I live East Lothian, Scotland, just outside Edinburgh. It’s a beautiful place. You should totally visit.
Sending me a DM or @ on Twitter is probably fastest.
