Daynote - Thu 12 Jun
And away we go.

No walk this morning because I hate being late for things, especially things that are a) important and b) that I'm really excited about. So I'm on a train to Stirling.
ON DECK: It's the launch of the Bloody Scotland programme this morning, and my first time meeting many of the other shortlistees for the Bloody Scotland Debut Prize. Lots of photographs and chatting to other writers await. I'm really excited. Before and after that I'll be working on the outline for PROJECT DRIFT on various trains and in various cafes. No words yet, but that's because I am yet to procure coffee.
LISTENING: I enjoyed (and am briefly in) this episode of the British Fantasy Society Long Story Short Podcast, which was recorded live at Cymera Festival this past weekend. It gives a really great sense of the festival.
WATCHING: A bit of BOB'S BURGERS last night, then TASKMASTER. Excellent fun telly to chill me out before today's excitement.
READING: I'll be reading THE HIROSHIMA MEN on multiple trains today. Once I'm done in Stirling I have at least five hours of train travel, so I may even finish it. We'll see.
LINK: Karen from the Hair Past A Freckle book blog has posted an excellent beginner's guide to the Capital Crime book festival, which I'm heading off to this very afternoon! Very useful and excellent timing.
UP NEXT: I'm in Stirling now (started this post on the train) and will be heading to the launch in a wee while, then hopefully I'll have time to go to Linwood Barclay's event and grab some lunch. After that I'm off to London. Really looking forward to my panel at Capital Crime tomorrow with Remi Kone, S.M. Govett and chair Brian McGilloway. And I'll be hitting a few bookshops to sign stock into the bargain, as well as swanning around the rest of the festival going to other panels.
Onward!
