In a very fortunate turn of events, it was pouring with rain this morning, so I got to double my usual writing time and skip my walk and not even feel all that guilty about it. Hooray!

ON DECK: I finished the linear edit of PROJECT SCARLET yesterday, so today was for tidying up, adding a few missing things from my tasklist and formatting the final submission document once I'd compiled it out of Scrivener. That got me an additional 442 words, and a finished book. Hooray!

It's now winging its way to my editor and I'm a day ahead of deadline. I could have kept fiddling with it, but I was at the 'moving commas around aimlessly' stage.

LISTENING: I listened rather than watching, but I really enjoyed this episode of Drafting Notes about dealing with rejection:

WATCHING: Another episode of THE HANDMAID'S TALE last night and it is certainly winding up to something pretty big at the end of the season. I think the finale aired in the US this week, so I'll be assiduously avoiding spoilers for the next month or so.

READING: I finished BELIEVE by S.M. Govett last night and the twist ending caught me completely by surprise. I actually gasped. Very good work indeed.

LINK: Another great Honest Editor post this week, on titles and naming of books.

UP NEXT: I had planned to do final editing and formatting on PROJECT SCARLET tomorrow, but I've finished slightly ahead of schedule, so I'm not actually sure what I'll do tomorrow. I do have a short story kicking around that I might finish off, or I might start outlining some possible next projects.

There's also just ONE WEEK left until the paperback of A RELUCTANT SPY comes out, so I'll be doing a bunch of social media and blog posts and suchlike. Oh, and I have this month's newsletter to finish writing. It never stops.

Onward!
