Daynote - Wed 30 Apr
Finishing the timelining and prepping for an event.

Absolutely stunning morning here in Scotland, but I was so close to the end of my timeline that I didn't go out for a walk. I will definitely get out tomorrow, so I really hope this lovely weather holds.
ON DECK: The timeline is done, but in completing it I discovered an 18 hour hole in my timeline that doesn't work with real-world timetables and locations. Annoying, but it's actually worked out in my favour, because it makes all the events at the end of the book a touch more realistic and less crowded together. I finished the timeline and started adding some little snippets to adjust the timeline, so I got an unexpected 339 words this morning as part of those adjustments.

LISTENING: I really enjoyed this episode of Scriptnotes with Eric Kripke (showrunner of THE BOYS and GENERATION V) about landing the final season of a series.
WATCHING: More THE LAST OF US last night, really enjoyed it. I think it was good to have a little narrative pause and build-up after the events of the second episode, and it ended on a splendidly menacing cliffhanger.
READING: More of INNOCENT GUILT yesterday, which I'm roaring through now.
LINK: Phoebe Morgan's 'Honest Editor' is becoming a go-to read for me. Here's a great piece about briefing covers.
UP NEXT: I'm off into Edinburgh tonight to chair this event with Chris Whitaker! Really looking forward to it.

Looks like there's still a few tickets left, so please do come along.
I'll be back into editing tomorrow with a long list of timeline changes and my first set of critique partner notes, before a mini-retreat over the bank holiday weekend as I do some housesitting for a friend, where I'm hoping to crack the big changes I need to make.
Onward!
