A very damp Friday indeed, so no walk as yet. If the rain slackens off I might get out for a wander later, but first I've got a lot of editing to do.
ON DECK: I'm starting this morning on page 300 and hoping to get to the end of the book. Possibly even before lunch.
Then I'll be doing a final pass against my edit list, a separate list of crutch words and repeated phrases and finally just anything else that sticks out. Then I'll be done! Very exciting.
LISTENING: Really enjoyed this morning's Page One podcast episode, interviewing the literary agent Oli Munson. I've met Oli briefly at Bloody Scotland a couple of times and he's a very nice chap, and this is a short but insightful look at the current state of the market.
WATCHING: A bit of tonal whiplash last night, first of all watching the GTA VI Extended Look, which looks absolutely wild (technically, tonally and in terms of pure scale), then following that up with another episode of THE TESTAMENTS, which continues to be very good.
READING: A bit more of JOE COUNTRY by Mick Herron (Bookshop, Waterstones, Amazon) and gosh, I really do just love this series and these characters.

UP NEXT: A long weekend, hooray, since it's a Bank Holiday here in the UK. Predictably, the weather looks like it's going to be awful. But then that's a good excuse to read some books.
Next week... I'm unsure, as I havered about yesterday. I suspect I will spend a week or two clearing the creative decks of some smaller projects and pitches before I dive back into DRIFT, because I need to have a plan for what comes after DRIFT that fits into both publisher schedules and my own priorities. So taking a couple of weeks to get my ducks in a row seems like the best move.
