A dice-rolling Friday.

A short daynote today, with no morning walk, as I'm in the studio!

ON DECK: Today is going to be entirely given over to recording with the Narrative Damage team, in the same studio as we recorded our last scenario. This time around we're doing a Delta Green session, which is more of a 1990s, X-Files adjacent vibe. I'm really looking forward to it.

Speaking of Narrative Damage, the latest scenario (recorded with a completely different set of writers) went live. This is a fantasy RPG using the Pathfinder and Nimble game systems, set in the City of Korvosa. Check it out below:

LISTENING: Loved this episode of the Page One Podcast with Callum McSorley, talking about his latest book RAT RACE, which I blurbed and absolutely loved. A very funny and fascinating dive into his writing life.

WATCHING: BOB'S BURGERS and THE BOYS last night, which made for an interesting tone shift I will say.

READING: Really enjoying THE LAST CONTRACT OF ISAKO by Fonda Lee (Bookshop, Waterstones, Amazon) and about to hit the halfway point with it. No idea where it's going, which I always like in a book.

LINK: I spotted an interesting call for submissions the other day, posted on ESFF - the Ellipsus writing software people are looking for writing and publishing-related essays for their website. Decent pay rates and a really wide writing-focused audience. Might pitch a few myself...

UP NEXT: A quiet-ish weekend with some non-writing plans (likely to be the last of those for a while) then we're in release week proper!

I'm starting the week with my 19th wedding anniversary (crikey). A nice dinner awaits, which I'm looking forward to.

Then on Thursday I've got the Bloody Scotland programme launch, my own book launch, a podcast interview, and then a full weekend of Cymera (including a panel I'm very, very excited to chair). Cannot WAIT.

Onward!
