Well, yesterday was quite the day for good news. But we're not stopping there!

Today I'm off to Cymera Festival via half the bookshops in Edinburgh to hunt down and sign every paperback I can lay my hands on, but first I'm dealing with the news that A RELUCTANT SPY has been shortlisted for the Bloody Scotland Debut Prize!

I honestly don't know what to say. I'm just delighted that my book has found so many passionate readers and got me here. It's amazing. Lots more details in the post above.

ON DECK: I'm heading into town today so I suspect I'll spend much of the day on buses and trains, then meeting booksellers and signing paperbacks. I can't wait - there's something very special about seeing your book in a shop and signing it. It's the literal dream.

In between, I'll be trying to do a bit of outlining, because I really want to get started on something next week and right now I've got nothing.

And after that, I'm heading to Cymera, for the first afternoon of events. Can't WAIT.

LISTENING: I've got two great things for you today - this episode of the Page One Podcast with CL Taylor was a hoot. And this episode of The Honest Authors Podcast with foreign rights agent Tanja Goossens was absolutely fascinating. A wonderful example of Dutch directness too - I wish everyone in publishing spoke this straightforwardly about what they do.

WATCHING: A bit of RACE AROUND THE WORLD last night. Such a good show. I always want it to go on longer than it does.

READING: More of THE HIROSHIMA MEN yesterday, and I'll probably get some read on the buses and trains today.

LINK: Just a couple of hours left on the Cymera Auction! There's bids on all three of my items now (which is very pleasing) but there's still a chance to get some incredible deals on all kinds of things, from signed books to full book critiques.

UP NEXT: Cymera, all weekend long. It's going to be awesome. Then next week is three days of regular writing routine, then I'm off to the Bloody Scotland programme launch on the 12th and Capital Crime next weekend! More details on my Events page.

Onward!
