Daynote - Thu 31 Jul
Wow, last day of July huh?

Off into town today for the day job, then a very exciting book launch tonight for MK Hardy's THE NEEDFIRE. Really looking forward to that.
ON DECK: A decent 1,141 words this morning, before I left for the train and then a bit on the train too. I like to write on trains a lot, and I love to see how many words I can sneak into a 20 minute train journey. About 300 on the train, followed by this very blog post. There can be little snippets of time all over the place, if you look for them.
LISTENING: I loved this mega-episode of the Read and Buried Podcast that Frankie's done, featuring interviews with a huge range of writers from Harrogate. And thank you for the shoutout at the start, Frankie!
WATCHING: We started watching THE ASSASSIN, featuring Keeley Hawes as a semi-retired contract killer. And it was excellent. An incredible first episode hook.
READING: More of the spy novel for blurbing last night. I'll be talking about it a bit more in my newsletter, which will be out in a couple of hours.
LINK: Speaking of THE NEEDFIRE, here's a cracking review of it from Runalong The Shelves.
UP NEXT: A bit more writing tomorrow, then signing in Glasgow and Fife over the weekend. Exciting stuff! Onward!
