Daynote - Thu 5 Jun
An *extremely* exciting day.

Well, this is a very early daynote, for reasons that will become clear shortly. I've not even gone out for my walk yet, though I will in a bit once I've finished posting a string of very exciting news.
Firstly, it's paperback publication day for A RELUCTANT SPY!
But it's also the day I'm allowed to talk about this - my debut novel has been shortlisted for the McDermid Debut Award at the Theakston's Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate. Lots more details at that link.
AHHHH.

ON DECK: A tiny bit of outlining after all this extremely exciting stuff has been posted. But to be quite honest my brain feels like pudding, so it's been a very small amount of outlining.
LISTENING: I really enjoyed this episode of the indispensable Behind The Lines with Arthur Snell, talking with Mike Martin MP about the Strategic Defence Review. A lot of food for thought for this thriller/SF author.
WATCHING: Something easy on the brain last night, as I was drafting blog posts and freaking out about today, so we watched some BOB'S BURGERS.
READING: More HIROSHIMA MEN. Continues to be excellent.

UP NEXT: Mostly sort of vibrating in place? It's a very exciting day. And tomorrow I have a day off to head into Edinburgh and track down as many paperback copies as I can to sign, before heading to the first day of Cymera Festival, where I'll be all weekend.
