Once again I skipped my walk and slept in. I was feeling really rough yesterday afternoon, but some chicken noodle soup and an early night seems to have sorted me out. Hopefully. Another early night tonight and a megadose of vitamins.
I am really missing the morning walks though. Hopefully I can get back to that next week.
I'm starting to get very excited for Bloody Scotland though! Remember, my event is on Saturday at 1315, at Made In Stirling, where I'll be in conversation with Paul Warner and CJ Merritt, chaired by Paul Burke.

ON DECK: I did, however, make a bit of progress on DRIFT this morning - an okay 327 words on a new chapter and some cutting and pasting as I reorganised a couple of scenes. Slow progress, but I'm feeling my way back into the draft and taking it slowly.
LISTENING: I enjoyed this compendium episode of Scriptnotes on 'general meetings' - I've not done the Hollywood version of this (when my TV option was at auction, I was being pitched, rather than pitching myself), but I've had meetings like this in the book world. Lots of good advice.
WATCHING: We watched H IS FOR HAWK last night - Claire Foy was fantastic and it's a beautifully shot film. I haven't read the book, but I think I will after seeing this film - it's always interesting to see how something as deeply personal and internal as a memoir is expressed on film.
READING: I finished off JOE COUNTRY by Mick Herron (Bookshop, Waterstones, Amazon) last night. Absolute cracker, and a hell of a cliffhanger ending. Looking forward to seeing how it will work on screen. And then I went back to LONDON STATION by David McCloskey (Bookshop, Waterstones, Amazon), which I am greatly, greatly enjoying.

UP NEXT: Packing to head off to Stirling tomorrow (I'm going up a bit early for an event before the main festival) and trying to tie off all my work before I take a week off. Then, Bloody Scotland! And after that, Braemar Literary Festival! It's going to be a busy couple of weeks.
