A blue sky morning.

I was out late in town last night, visiting family, so got up late again this morning. No walk, but it's a beautiful and crisp November morning after a run of unseasonably warm days. Sunny too. Hopefully I'll get out for some more walks next week and it won't be chucking it down.

ON DECK: I did a bunch of proof work on trains and buses last night, then a little more this morning. I'm in the final third of the book and it's running along nicely.

TOOLS AND PROCESS: I've been trying to be less precious about my Supernote and actually take it out of the house, because it is a really light and portable device and it's amazing for doing proofreads, or beta/blurb reads where I've been sent a PDF. I took it with me last night and it worked really well, letting me get a dozen chapters proofed where I'd normally be staring at my phone or zoning out to a podcast.

One particularly amazing feature which comes in very handy when I'm proofing for my publisher is that I can annotate the PDF on my Supernote, then when I get home I can jump through the document, skipping from one annotation to the next without having to manually page through, and reflect those changes into the PDF I'll send back to my publisher. I could take my laptop and do that directly, but the Supernote is lighter, more pleasant to read on and won't run out of battery. It's a great device.

LISTENING: I really, really enjoyed this interview with Francesca Barbini of Luna Press over at Page One. I've met and worked with Francesca many times and she's a force of nature in the Scottish indie publishing world.

WATCHING: Didn't watch anything last night as I was in town, but I did enjoy this guide to ARC Raiders (which has taken over my gaming time in a big way) - lots of very useful tips for folks like me who have limited gaming time.

READING: I switched back to THE POWER OF THE DOG (yes, still reading that) when I got home last night and man, it's just so well done. Really enjoying it. I think I will stop hopping about between books for a bit and focus on this one.

LINK: My local newspaper, the East Lothian Courier, did a lovely story on everything that's happened over the summer. Thanks to Erin Brown for interviewing me.

UP NEXT: There will be proofing this weekend, I think, since I'm not finished yet. But there will also be two birthday parties and some sleep. Then, next week, hopefully, it's back to DRIFT.

Onward!
