It's Bloody Scotland week!

Welp, I intended to start the week right with a walk this morning, but things got away from me (not least the outline for the next few chapters) and I didn't make it out in time. Tomorrow! For sure!

Yesterday my episode of the In My Good Books podcast dropped, as part of five interviews with the Bloody Scotland Debut Prize shortlist.

Thank you so much to Susie for the great interview. The next four interviews are out every day until the festival starts on Friday!

Also, AH, it's Bloody Scotland week!

ON DECK: Very, very slow this morning, mostly micro-outlining five or six scenes ahead. I now have a solid week or two of planned out scenes, but the word count suffered so I only hit 64 words today (basically just finishing off the scene I drafted on Friday). But, the microlining is done and I'm ready to go.

LISTENING: I really enjoyed this interview with V.E. Schwab on the On The Write Track podcast (which I thought had gone dormant, but apparently not). The stuff about her early career hits and misses was particularly reassuring, given her subsequent stratospheric success.

WATCHING: Bit more KING & CONQUEROR on Friday, then some BAKE OFF yesterday. Man, what a first episode eh? Some absolute disasters. I can't imagine how stressful it must be, especially as the bar has kept getting higher and higher on that show. Ooft.

READING: More TIME WARPED by Adam Simcox over the weekend. Uh, wow. The story I thought was going to be the main thread ended less than halfway through the book and it turns out it's something else entirely. I love when books subvert your expectations like that.

LINK: I'm going to be chairing an event in Glasgow this November! I'm lucky enough to be the chair for Kim Sherwood and Vaseem Khan at the AyeWrite festival, talking about their work set within the Bond universe.

UP NEXT: Definitely getting out for a walk tomorrow, I'm starting to get cabin fever (though I was in town on Saturday, I miss the woods). And now that I have my microlines in place, I can forge ahead in the few days before Bloody Scotland kicks off. Still can't believe this week has finally arrived!

Onwards!
