Daynote - Tue 11 Mar
Happy first day of the Fair!

Chilly this morning, temperatures have dropped a bit again and there was a very cold breeze coming in off the Forth. But I had a nice walk regardless.
London Book Fair starts today! Good luck to all the agents, editors and marketers descending into the maelstrom.
ON DECK: A very solid session this morning, with 2,125 words and another three short scenes down. I'm plugging away and the end is in sight.
LISTENING: The excellent Behind The Lines podcast hosted by Arthur Snell did a very good episode with Samir Puri of Chatham House about the changes to (or collapse of) the global order.
WATCHING: More ANDOR last night, including the superb 'One Way Out' episode. Absolute chills.
READING: Started beta-reading a very good SF novel for a friend yesterday and ripped through three chapters in my lunchbreak. Superb stuff.
LINK: I really enjoyed this video by The Overview Effekt on constant-thrust space travel (which is the magic ingredient of the Expanse series). The numbers are mind-boggling. Earth to Mars in 3 days! All it will take is technology we haven't invented yet.
UP NEXT: Off to Glasgow tomorrow afternoon for a gig, then a day off on Thursday. In the interim I'll be trying to get a few scenes done every day before the final push. Looks like this thing might bleed over into next week, unless I get frustrated enough to get up early and do a bit more writing at the weekend (which is likely).
Onward!
