A sleepy midweek morning.

You win some, you lose some. After a couple of days on the routine, with morning walks and good amounts of words being written, I had a bit of a late night (picking up family in the car), then had a very interrupted night's sleep thanks to my cats (captured birds, cats puking, it was a whole thing). So, no walk this morning and precious little writing.

ON DECK: A grand total of ten words this morning, before I noped out of my Scrivener file and instead spent a bit of time working on Notion spreadsheets (for managing events and todo lists) and answering emails I didn't get to yesterday. Plus fighting with the wifi on my laptop, which seems to have taken a major dive since I upgraded it to MacOS Tahoe. Sometimes you just have to use the time you have to make forward progress on something and sometimes that something is just admin. Oh well.

I'm in town for work tomorrow, but I'm aiming to get up early enough to get some words down. Hopefully there won't be any cat-based sleep interruptions tonight.

LISTENING: I really enjoyed this interview on CrimeTime FM with editors Phoebe Morgan (of Simon and Schuster and the newsletter The Honest Editor) and Jack Butler of Little Brown, talking about their experiences at Frankfurt Book Fair this year. A really interesting insight into the general market.

WATCHING: We watched the first episode of PLURIBUS on Apple TV last night. No spoilers, but it was fantastic. An hour long WTF, in the best way. And Rhea Seehorn is fantastic as the embittered romantasy author at the centre of a world-changing event. The scene near the beginning where she's working a signing queue was hilarious.

READING: A tiny bit of THE POWER OF THE DOG last night, just before spending my night wrangling cats.

LINK: If anyone else has been having wifi issues with MacOS Tahoe, I found this guide pretty useful. A couple of things seemed to work temporarily, but I think I'm nearly at the point where I'll need to unplug all my routers and set the whole thing up from scratch again. Which is overdue, thanks to the horrible jerry-rigged powerline adaptor/wifi repeater situation I have to manage the walls and different floors in my oddly-shaped house.

UP NEXT: Hopefully, more drafting in the remaining two days of the week, because this morning was a write-off. But, I do have some updated spreadsheets now. Yay?

Onward!
